Let’s chat. With years of projects under my belt, I can show you a remodel or expansion kitchen project that aligns with your concepts.
Thinking remodeling in the Seattle area? Think R.A. Potter Construction.
MAGNOLIA, Full House Remodel
This project included removing walls between the Kitchen, Dining Room, Stairs, and Living Room to create an open floor concept. The posts had to remain to keep the structure intact. Beams are recessed into the attic space to allow for the open space plan. The work included a new Kitchen with new appliances, 2 new bathrooms with tile, fixtures and electronic mirrors, refinish all of the main floor hardwood flooring, new base, and window trim. We also finished the basement drywall with new texture, paint, flooring, and trim. The electrical light switches and appliances can be controlled through your cell phone in this house.
The Vaulted Ceiling project on South Orcas Street:
This Seward Park project included the vaulted ceiling, skylights, beams, lighting, master bathroom with level floor and infinity drain with new master bedroom addition. The client wanted more headroom so space would feel larger. I worked with my Structural Engineer to create the new ceiling structure by working inside the house only and not disturbing the existing roof system. We got a permit within 2 weeks and the project was completed on time and on budget. The new Living Room, Dining Room and Kitchen feel much larger with the open ceiling. The Customer is very happy they made the investment.
Seward Park Kitchen remodel | Kitchen grew from 9lf to 27lf
The customer has an older 1919 Craftsmen home and wants to stay for the long term. With 2 young children to raise, they needed more than 9 linear feet of counter space. I created the C shaped kitchen with 27 linear feet of counter space. This also allowed for an open counter to the Dining Room for easy conversation while preparing meals and serving party favors. Access to the bathroom was privatized in the Hall and a larger attic stair system installed for future growth upstairs. They also gained another bedroom in the basement by converting a storage space by lowering the floor and providing Egress windows for safety. They can enjoy their expanded kitchen for many years to come.
Bainbridge Island kitchen: remodel / expansion
The customer had a hidden pantry in the back hall which was very inconvenient. I reversed the pantry layout, opened the Hall to the Kitchen which added 4 linear feet of counter space on each side. The pantry cabinets are custom made to match the Bead Board style kitchen cabinets. Now there is plenty of space to show off the plate collection.
